Summary week 19, getting around, Land, Air and Water Vehicles

Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi

As I explained in the last summary we switched some weeks because of our vacation plans, and this week we did week 19 of the curriculum alhamdulillah. I wanted to do this subject so we could learn the dua for traveling and riding vehicles before we leave insha Allah, and as Im looking forward to Umm An`numans mini book for the clothes theme we did week 19 before week 18. Im a bit late with the summary but thats just how things happends to be sometimes, alhamdulillah

We talked about that being able to move about in the land and travel throughout the earth is a blessing from Allah, and that we can learn a lot when travelling. We talked about travelling for a purpose, like for hajj, for knowledge, for work, for family visits or to visit someone righteous as this will benefit in this life and in the next insha Allah. I explained to them how earlier scholars could travel for months, sometimes by horse or camels and sometimes even by their feet only, just to gain knowledge about islam. Subhan Allah.

They did the mini workbook, they payed attention very carefully to story of hijra masha Allah, Adam actually asked me to retell it several times.

They enjoyed the coloring a lot masha Allah

The dua for riding a vehicle

They learned Allahs names Al quddos and Al latif

We read in our enoclypedia about the newer history of vehicles

And we talked about that the travellers dua is accepted and we used the dar ul kitab book and kept on memorizing the dua for travel

We read in these books on the subject, the one on traffic is very nice and teaches how to behave when involved with traffic along the roads or in the city.

We also have this book with vehicle mazes, a lot of fun activities within it masha Allah.

We practiced vehicles names with the flash cards from smart ark, they know them now masha Allah

And this little dictonary from Umm An`numan on a muslim child is born

We also read this book from arabic first

and they colored the activity sheets that compliments it

I made everything ready to make a lap book but we did not get that far to put it together, I will just save it and we can do it another time insha Allah.

They did several worksheets with writing practice and number/counting practice

As for reading Im preparing for the Glenn Doman method for them to read norwegian. Im not done with his book yet, and as he says, planning for next month is fun, planning for tomorrow is not. So Im waiting to after our vacation and insha Allah then we will start up.

Regarding arabic we use the word flow cards and the read book from learning roots and we practice orally phrases from Madinah arabic.

We talked about the prophets Ilyas and Al- yasa a.s and they painted Ilyas name

On aqeeda we read about the meaning of la ilaha il Allah and the meaning of Muhammed ur rasulallah. For aqeeda we use this book from sheikh Yahya al Hajoree. It is printable online and you find the link in the doument for Umm Maimoonahs preschool curriculum insha Allah.
We only did review of the last three surahs still. Insha Allah we will proceed and get started with surah al humaza next week, maybe even finish it before we leave and then we can do review of the last four pages of juz amma when we travel insha Allah.

They did some montessori activities this week too.
Magnetic board, develops pencilgrip, fine motoric and focus

And this activity, dont recall what to name it in english but you get the picture insha Allah

At the end of this week we had guests, a very dear sister and her little family came from a long distance and stayed with us for the weekend, it was very nice and my kids keep talking about it all the time since they left. Subhan Allah how Allah creates this bond of sister and brotherhood in our ummah, it was just like having family with us. I wish we could live closer, alhamdulillah for everything, may Allah join us in jannah.
