Changing my ways fisabilillah

Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullah,

Jazakom Allahu khairan for comments, regular visits and support. This post is for my readers who have followed our journey through our first year of home educating and the new who just discovered my blog!
I have now decided to change my ways fisabilillah, I have removed my previous entries and will edit and re post according to the following inshaa Allah. Because I will continue to share our journey but limit personal experience a lot more, I will no longer include pictures who shows living creatures at all insha Allah and refrain from a tone which I would not use when talking to an unknown person and certainly not with people that are not my mahrams. I ask you all to understand this and I hope that a lot more of you will benefit from the blog in the future bidnillah.

I pray that Allah forgives my mistakes and accepts my repentance for that which I know of and that which I do not know and I pray the He rewards the sister who gave me naseeha in a respectful and beautiful manner and accepts from all of us our efforts done for His sake and our actions to gain His ridouan (contentness).

Barak Allahu fikom,

Umm Adam Al-Norwigiyah

Week 5, Allah created animals and birds

Assalaamu alaikum, Another week came to its end and alhamdulillah we had a great time. We learned about Allah creating the animals and birds. We did the workbook from Umm An-Numan,

And the workbook had a lot of funny activities, both of my children have fun working with these. Even Adam did the tracing part with ease and delight, masha Allah. And I know the answers at the right picture may look wrong in the english language, but in our language its absolutely correct, masha Allah. Very fitting that the alternatives were suiting for us, alhamdulillah.

And we did aqeeda acitivites from amuslimchildisborn, most resources are from there at this time, alhamdulillah, a really beneficial blog masha Allah,

Since the subject were related to animals we did a lot of reading on different animals, birds, insects and fish and we all enjoyed that alhamdulillah, these were some of the books we read:

The book at the left is called: love all creatures and have four stories from ahadith, f.ex about the man and the thirsty dog and about the evil woman and the cat. We also made this fish, and the heart did my daughter do, with plastic beads and we played our question/answer game

We went visiting a local farm which has open visit time every week and looked at all the animals there and talked about how they are useful in different ways, what they eat and how Allah created them subhan Allah. The favorite animal were the horses.

We learned Allahs names al-Adheem and al- Qadir and pasted in our book,

We did catch up on coloring the prophets names, alhamulillah and we read some stories on Ibrahim a.s. Now the painting skills has improved, masha Allah,

And a couple of worksheets did they do as well, some easy tracing and phonic assignments and pencil control

Curriculum - islam is my life

We have started to follow Umm Maimoonahs preschool curriculum, called islam is my life. Jazak Allah khair to Umm Maimoonah, Umm An-numan, Umm Ibrahim and the other sisters who have put, and still are putting their efforts into developing the curriculum. We have made a few adjustments to personalize it according to my childrens level, and sometimes we add activities too. The original you can look at and download here insha Allah: http://www.4shared.com/document/1WLIVgzM/Islamic_Pre_School_Curriculum_.html

We are now on week 4, and I will insha Allah post a summary of our first weeks soon.
